Two trades, one team

We do tree work and painting, and nothing else. That keeps the crew on what they're good at.

    Dead, unwanted or hazardous trees taken down safely, with people, property and nearby structures protected.

  2. Pruning, trimming & crown reduction

    Branches cut back to improve the tree's health, safety and shape, and to let more light into the garden.

  3. Stump grinding & removal

    Stumps and roots removed so you get the space back and to stop the tree growing back.

  4. Hedge trimming & shaping

    Hedges kept neat and in shape through the year.

  5. Emergency & storm damage

    Fallen trees, broken branches and storm debris cleared to make the property safe and accessible again. Same-day emergency service, 24/7.

About BlueGill

Started small in 2018. Grown on referrals.

Terence started BlueGill in 2018 with one goal: safe, affordable and professional tree felling for homeowners and businesses around Johannesburg. It began as a small tree-care operation and grew by word of mouth. Today it's a team of 10 to 15 people doing tree removal, pruning, stump removal and storm-damage call-outs, and now painting too.

Most of the work still comes from referrals and repeat customers. We arrive on time, keep you in the loop, and charge a fair price for doing the job properly.
